Chess in Chorzów 4

In Chorzów most chess starts at the youth culture centre, which lists chess classes in its programme for the 2026/2027 school year and holds a national director’s cup for players under eight each spring, most recently in May 2026. The rounds of the regional chess league have also been played in the city, with groups of different strength meeting in autumn.

The second and third Czarny Koń opens were played at the Leśniczówka Rock’n’Roll Cafe in October and November 2024; no later round has turned up, so that entry stays unconfirmed. Younger children can also learn at the chess school of the municipal sports and recreation centre on ul. Dąbrowskiego, which appears among the training groups.
